Super Bowl Sunday BillsGarden Additions

On the way home from HouseWife Bake Shop, been going there for years,
to pick up Super Bowl sweet things decided to stop by Manny's Nursery .

This is what we got on Super Bowl Sunday

Bracteantha bracteata know as strawflower, everlasting daisy, golden everlasting.
Strawflower is an upright, warm-weather annual or short lived perennial with daisy-like flower heads in yellow, pink, bronze, cream, purple or white. Strawflower has thin, lance shaped, grayish green leaves up to 5 in (12.7 cm) long, and sandpapery, hollow, branching stems that may reach 3-4 ft (0.9-1.2 m) in height. From late spring until fall, strawflower bears flowerheads about 2 in (5.1 cm) across singly or in few-flowered clusters on the ends of the branches. What look like ray flowers or petals are actually bracts (modified leaves) surrounding the central corolla. The bracts are papery with a straw-like, crackly texture, hence the common name. The corolla is like the disc of more typical daisies, composed of many tiny florets. There are no ray florets at all.

Verbena canadensis "trailing verbena," also known as "rose verbena" or "clump verbena," is a spreading, sprawling herbaceous perennial characterized by dark-green foliage and flat-topped flowers in shades of purple and pink. Trailing verbena is commonly grown as a summer annual. It is used as ground cover, as edging, as a container plant & especially well suited for  @BillsGarden front porch.  Trailing verbena is a native of the southeastern United States, making it a suitable landscape plant for USDA hardiness zones 5 through 9. Plants grown in full sun shade or partial shade will produce fewer flowers, and they are likely to succumb to powdery mildew and other fungal diseases.  Trailing verbena is not picky about soil pH, but it does require a well-draining soil. Water newly planted flowers frequently, enough to keep the soil moist at all times for at least the first few weeks. This will help the plant to create a strong root foundation. Water once a week once established. Fertilize monthly during the growing season with a complete, balanced fertilizer. You may need to fertilize verbena plants in sandy soils more frequently.

Kalanchoe is a succulent that provides consumers with a durable flowering pot plant requiring very little maintenance in the home or office. For growers, they are an attractive pot crop because they can be predictably forced into flower and marketed any time of the year. Although they are a leading pot crop in Europe, especially Germany, Denmark, and Switzerland, Kalanchoes are not as popular in the United States and may be considered a minor though steady crop for the greenhouse industry. They may be marketed as a center piece, in dish gardens, as patio plants, or as novelty gifts.  Kalanchoe blossfeldiana is a glabrous, succulent herd or subshrub that may develop woody stems with age. It is native to Madagascar (between 12 and 25 latitude), a large island in the Indian Ocean off the southeast coast of Africa. The species is found growing in the south and southeast part of the island where semi-arid conditions exist with rainfall less than 10-15 inches per year.
